Shipping policy

At The Book Exchange, we are committed to providing a clear, reliable, and convenient shipping experience for our customers across the United States. Please review the information below regarding our order cut-off time, handling time, transit time, delivery estimates, tracking, and possible delays.

Shipping Locations

The Book Exchange currently ships within the United States only. We do not offer shipping to international destinations, including Canada, Mexico, or other countries outside the United States.

Order Cut-Off Time

Our daily order cut-off time is 3:00 PM (Monday – Sunday). Orders placed before 3:00 PM (GMT-07:00) MST (Denver) on our business days will begin processing on that same day. Orders placed after 3:00 PM (GMT-07:00) MST (Denver) will begin processing on the next business day. The order cut-off time applies after payment has been successfully confirmed.

Handling / Processing Time

Our standard handling time is 1–3 business days (Monday– Friday). Handling time begins after your order has been placed and payment has been confirmed. During this period, we verify the order, package the items, and prepare the shipment. Sundays and U.S. federal holidays are not counted as handling days.

Transit Time

After your order has been handed over to the shipping carrier, the estimated transit time is 3–5 business days. Transit times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination, carrier operations, weather, and holidays.

Total Delivery Time

Our estimated total delivery time combines handling time and transit time:

• Handling Time: 1–3 business days (Monday – Friday)
• Transit Time: 3–5 business days
• Total Estimated Delivery Time: 4–8 business days across all destinations within the United States.

Please note that delivery estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Business Days & Hours

Our regular operating and processing days are Monday through Saturday (9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (GMT-07:00) MST (Denver)). Sundays (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (GMT-07:00) MST (Denver)) and U.S. federal holidays are not counted as standard full processing/shipping days. Orders placed on closed or modified days will be processed on the next available operating day.

Shipping Charges

Any applicable shipping charges will be clearly displayed during checkout before you complete your purchase. If your order qualifies for free shipping, the offer will be automatically applied at checkout. No hidden or unexpected shipping charges will be added after checkout.

Order Tracking

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking information. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for the carrier's system to update the tracking details.

Delivery Delays

We make every reasonable effort to ensure timely delivery. However, delays may occasionally occur due to circumstances beyond our control, such as:

• Severe weather conditions
• Carrier transit delays
• Peak holiday shipping volumes
• Incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses

If your package is delayed, please check your tracking link or contact the carrier directly for updates.

Incorrect or Incomplete Shipping Information

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address at checkout. If you notice an error, please contact us immediately at support@thebookexchange.us. Once an order has been shipped, we cannot change or redirect the delivery address.

Lost, Missing, or Damaged Packages

If your package arrives damaged, is lost, or is significantly delayed, please contact us right away. Please include:

• Your order number
• A brief description of the issue
• Clear photos of the package and damaged items (if applicable)

We will review your claim and work with the shipping carrier to resolve the issue promptly.
